Controls & Programming

C++, Linux, Trane Tracer, Modbus, TCP/IP, Siemens P1- WHAT ARE ALL THESE LEGACY PROGRAMS?

We are able to transition legacy systems, including pneumatic controls, to standardized BACNET IP protocols. We have an extensive of migrating legacy systems to modern systems. With many control manufacturers developing their own Enterprise or Front-end systems, we’ll help you coordinate these in phases to keep it operational. Such Enterprise front ends may include Trane Ensemble, Schneider Wonderware, JCI Metasys, TRIDIUM NIAGARA N4, Honeywell, and many others. We’re able to design any phase of your Network Architecture.

In addition to front end Enterprise softwares, we’re able to determine the best controllers for your project including Distech, Alerton, Siemens, and Lynxspring, and EdgeIOs. Field controllers connect to your mechanical devices from VAVs to chillers, boilers, and energy meters.

The industry is changing faster than ever before in the world of IOT (Internet of Things) and we’re here to help you understand your products and services. Through vigorous program implementation and training, we stride to have your lowest level technician know how to react in critical situations.

The IOT does not even stop here as we move to Cloud services and Analytics. We have done several projects in the past where building infrastructure was hijacked and had to move to more robust systems with cloud services and redundant servers. As we move to more digitized world, security is our foremost concern including implementation of VLANs, VPNs, TLS-1, 2, 3; multi-factor authentication, and passkeys.

In addition, Building automation system are also able to provide ‘Analytics’ to provide warnings to preventative maintenance issues and also predict failures. Analytics uses a set of rules to see if equipment is running in normal operation or can tell when the next inspection is due. With hundreds of mechanical equipment in a building, it’s also important to prioritize these issues.

Lastly, we also offer review in Sequence of Operations for unit or system operations such as Central Plants. We’re able to review when there’s a conflict in statement of operation, system failure events, or multi-failure, and test modes. The sequence of operations is really important as a designer write how the units shall run but may conflict with unit manufacturer operations or 3rd party equipment. Such simple sequence of operations for an Air Handling Unit may be open dampers, run fans to pressure setpoints, and then modulate chilled and hot water valves to specified cooled or heating setpoint.
